Giancarlo Stanton says he will be ramping up his physical activity as he attempts to return to the New York Yankees.
Stanton has been out since the first week of the season after suffering a strained biceps that has sidelined him for over a month. He is recovered from that injury but also received a cortisone injection in his left shoulder while out.
The slugger said on Monday that he is going to ramp things up as he gets closer to a return.
Giancarlo Stanton (biceps/shoulder) said he saw a specialist out in California. He will attempt to swing a bat again tomorrow. “No major update for you guys. I’m going to ramp it up and see how it goes.”

Stanton only has eight at-bats in three games this season.
If he makes a return soon, that would be bad news for the rest of MLB. The Yankees just got Clint Frazier back from a sprained ankle and Miguel Andujar from a shoulder injury. Despite all their injuries — Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks, James Paxton, Luis Severino and Dellin Betances are all out — the team is 20-14 this season. Their depth is remarkable.
