Giancarlo Stanton ‘probably close’ to another rehab assignment
The New York Yankees have barely had Giancarlo Stanton all season, but the hope is that will be changing in the coming weeks.
Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Stanton is “probably close” to another rehab assignment after the premature conclusion of his last one.
Giancarlo Stanton is "probably close" to restarting his rehab assignment, Aaron Boone says. Dellin Betances will throw another bullpen on Sunday and they will decide from there his next steps (live hitters).

Stanton had originally been sidelined with a biceps injury, but then hurt his calf while rehabbing that. It appears that he’s more or less over both of those issues and should get back out on another rehab assignment soon. If all goes well there, a return to the Yankee lineup will not be far behind.
