Giancarlo Stanton hits home run onto roof at Dodger Stadium (Video)
Giancarlo Stanton did the unthinkable on Tuesday night and cleared the bleachers on a home run at Dodger Stadium.
Stanton was batting in the top of the first for the Miami Marlins and absolutely crushed one off Dodgers starter Mike Bolsinger that flew over the left field pavilion seats, onto the roof, and bounced into the parking lot.
The only other player I know who cleared the pavilion at Dodger Stadium during a game was Mike Piazza. I know that because I was there, but my buddy and I missed it live because his parents made his go get them frozen freaking yogurt. A twice-in-a-lifetime event happens and I miss it because of frozen yogurt.
Stanton, man, that guy is such a stud.
Dodgers records say Mark McGwire hit it out in left-center in 2009 and that Willie Stargell did it to right field twice. We’ll see if they count Stanton’s blast in the same category.
