Watch: Giancarlo Stanton gets standing ovation from Marlins fans

Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton received a nice welcome from Miami Marlins fans in his return to Marlins Park.

Stanton on Tuesday faced the Marlins for the first time since being traded to the New York Yankees over the offseaosn. He received an ovation from the fans and then saluted them:

Stanton was drafted by the Marlins in 2007 and made his MLB debut for them in 2010. During his eight-year Marlins career, he led the league in homers twice and slugging percentage three times. He was named to four All-Star teams and departed as the reigning NL MVP.

The 28-year-old singled in his first at-bat to raise his average to .286 with 32 homers this year.
