The San Francisco Giants are producing a masterclass on how to hate on your biggest rival.
San Francisco released their giveaway schedule for the 2024 MLB season this week, and one particular giveaway drew a lot of attention online. When the hated Los Angeles Dodgers come to town on June 30, the Giants will be giving away a Mickey Mouse ears hat to the first 15,000 fans in attendance.

You can see the promo for yourself on the Giants’ website here.
That is an impressively petty dig at the Dodgers over their 2020 World Series title. The Dodgers won it all that year after a 60-game regular season and a neutral bubble site postseason (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Since the Dodgers have not come anywhere close to replicating that kind of playoff success ever since, many opposing fans write off the 2020 title as a “Mickey Mouse championship.”
If any team was going to send that barb at the Dodgers in the form of an official giveaway, it would definitely be the Giants. A Giants media outlet already took a similar swipe at the Dodgers several years ago, and now Oracle Park will be joining in on the fun too come this summer.
