Gleyber Torres’ dominance of the Orioles nearly reaches record level

Gleyber Torres

Gleyber Torres has been a personal nightmare for the Baltimore Orioles this season and continues to terrorize them.

On Monday, Torres smacked a solo home run in the first game of a doubleheader against Baltimore. We wrote at the time just how much he had been dominating them. But the story didn’t end there. Torres went out and slugged a pair of 3-run home runs in the second game of the doubleheader, giving him 26 dingers on the season. What’s crazy is that half of his home runs have come against the Orioles.

Yes, that’s right: Torres now has 13 home runs this season against Baltimore. As of his third homer of the day, Torres was hitting .477 with 13 homers and 20 RBIs in just 17 games against the Orioles this season.

Gleyber Torres has slugged 13 HR against the Orioles this season in just 17 games.

That is:

All Torres needs is one more home run to tie Lou Gehrig’s record of 14 against the Indians in 1936. Torres still has two more games this series to tie or break the record. Do you think he’ll get it done?
