Guardians minor league team offers fans hilarious Tim Anderson promo
The Lake County Captains, a high-A minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, are celebrating Jose Ramirez Appreciation Week from August 8 to August 13. While Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson himself is probably not invited, everyone else named Tim will get special treatment.
Part of the Captains’ promotions include the opportunity for any fans named Tim to sit on the field at Classic Park in commemoration of the wild Ramirez-Anderson scuffle. There is no indication yet if this offer will take place while the action is going on in the field, but minor league promotions often know no bounds.

The Captains’ official Twitter account also cleared up that all sorts of names that have “Tim” in them are invited for the promotion.

Back in 2012, a 19-year-old Ramirez played a majority of his games at Lake County. In 67 contests, the future Guardians star slashed .354/.403/.462 with 3 home runs for the Captains.
It’s safe to say Ramirez’s power went up once he got to the majors. Not only did he have enough strength to knock down Anderson on Saturday, but he has also tallied over 200 home runs across eight seasons with the Guardians.
