Ian Kinsler was trash-talked by his Alexa

Ian Kinsler says he was trash-talked by his Alexa.

Kinsler turns 37 in June and is entering his 14th season in the majors. He was asked by The Athletic’s Jayson Stark whether he feels like an old guy in the game and said no. But he says his Alexa disagrees.

“My kids asked Alexa how old I am. She said, ‘Ian Kinsler is 36 years old. He’s 10 years older than the average Padres player.’ I swear to God. They got a kick out of that,” Kinsler related to Stark.

Kinsler and the Padres agreed on a 2-year deal worth a reported $8 million. He’ll serve as a veteran on a Padres team that is full of many young players as they try to show they are a contender.

Coming off a season where he batted just .240, Kinsler has a lot to prove that age hasn’t gotten the best of him.
