Jazz Chisholm might be a little bit sore when he wakes up tomorrow morning.
The New York Yankees infielder Chisholm had an extremely painful moment that he inflicted on himself during Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. During the seventh inning at Oriole Park in Baltimore, Md., Chisholm was up to bat and took a hack at an 0-2 offering from Baltimore reliever Jose Castillo.
Chisholm successfully made contact with the ball … but probably wished that he didn’t. He ended up fouling the ball into his nuts. Check out the stomach-turning video.

The two-time All-Star Chisholm, who is batting .242 on the year overall, was lucky that the ball (singular) hit the dirt first before his balls (plural). He fortunately ended up staying in the game, after taking several moments to recover, and ultimately struck out swinging in the at-bat.
That didn’t matter at all for the Yankees though as they were already ahead 7-0 at the time of Chisholm’s … direct hit. They ended up beating the Orioles by that same final score to drop their magic number to clinch a playoff spot down to six.
Meanwhile, nut shots are a particular risk in the sport of baseball, even when one is properly fitted with a cup. A couple of years ago, another MLB player suffered a rough-sounding injury on a similar foul-tip incident. Even during the 2025 season, we have already seen other brutal nut shots to multi-time All-Stars.
