Jeff McNeil showed off his colorful vocabulary on Friday night.
The New York Mets second baseman McNeil was ejected from his team’s game against the Texas Rangers. In the fourth inning at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y., McNeil was called out on strikes by home plate umpire Scott Barry on a borderline 3-2 pitch from Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom.
In response to the call, McNeil unloaded on Barry, saying, “F–k you, godd—-t!” Barry immediately tossed McNeil after the outburst as McNeil continued to shake his head and say, “No way!”

For what it is worth, the pitch did seem to be a bit low. But that was probably too close for McNeil to be taking there on a two-strike count.

The 33-year-old McNeil is in his eighth career MLB season (all with the Mets). He is batting .261 on the year with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs through 108 games. But McNeil is also known for a bit of a hot temper and once even triggered a benches-clearing incident by feuding with an opponent.
As for Barry, who has served as an MLB umpire since 2006 and as a full-time one since 2011, he is generally known to get calls right but has had some misses before in the distant past.
