Jerry Seinfeld is a huge New York Mets fan and seems to have found a new favorite player in Pete Alonso.
The actor/comedian sent a funny tweet on Sunday showing just how much he likes Alonso by saying he would remake “The Boyfriend” episode of his legendary TV show with the current Mets first baseman.
Deeply contemplating “Seinfeld” re-boot if I can lock up @Pete_Alonso20 for next episode of “The Boyfriend”.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the background to this story, former Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez appeared in two episodes of “Seinfeld” in 1992 as himself. Jerry was excited to become friends with his idol but becomes upset after Hernandez starts dating Elaine.
Jerry putting Alonso into the same category as Hernandez is quite an honor. Of course, it seems well deserved; Alonso set the MLB rookie record with 53 home runs this season.
I think we definitely need to see this happen, and then have a reunion of Seinfeld and the “Pretty Boy” in the announcing booth.
