Joe Buck got complaints on Twitter for game he didn’t announce
Joe Buck is one of the most criticized announcers in sports. Most of the hatred comes from the fact that he calls such high-profile games, but his critics took their complaining to a new level on Saturday.
Buck, who is calling a preseason football game between the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants on Sunday, was not in the FOX broadcaster’s booth for the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game on Saturday. Kenny Albert took his place, but Buck was quick to point out that he was still getting ripped on Twitter for his commentary that never was.
Getting ripped for my "biased" calls for AND against Yankees in today's game. Only problem is I'm not doing the game – proves a point – wah

He wasn’t kidding. We scanned Twitter for some complaints about Buck that occurred during Saturday’s game, and there were plenty of them. Here are some of the more PG-rated tweets:
Joe Buck: Soriano is now 15 for his last 20. McCarver: thats a .750 average! America: face palm

Joe Buck is dumb. Need first AND second for an infield fly to be called.

Its only the first at bat and I already wanna turn the Yankees off. I cannot stand Joe buck and McCarver. Already off topic

How long till Joe Buck & Tim McCarver leave the announcers box, walk onto the field and, in unison, start blowing Dustin Pedroia? #MLBonFOX

And of course, there were plenty of people who used four-letter words to express their displeasure toward Buck, who was probably watching the game from a hotel room.
Don’t get me wrong, I get annoyed by Joe Buck just as much as anyone else, though I don’t lose any sleep over his commentary. But if you’re going to rip the guy for being biased and obnoxious, at least wait until his day off is over.
