Joey Chestnut obliterates pints of ice cream at minor league game
Renowned competitive eater Joey Chestnut on Saturday showed off his versatility by downing several pints of ice cream in under a minute.
The Toledo Mud Hens brought in Chestnut to throw out the first pitch for the team’s contest against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio.

The Mud Hens didn’t invite Chestnut just to clock his fastball. The team also organized an ice cream eating challenge for the 40-year-old hot dog destroyer.
There will never be another Joey Chestnut

Chestnut was able to get through four full pints of vanilla ice cream before time expired. He did it while thoroughly impressing a man wearing a hot dog costume.
The cold dessert might have given Chestnut a different kind of challenge compared to the savory foods he’s used to devouring. There’s the possibility of battling through a brain freeze or potentially cold-sensitive teeth.
Chestnut’s output of four probably doesn’t sound as impressive as his gaudy totals during the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest. But we mere mortals probably wouldn’t even get through two pints within the allotted time.
Chestnut won his 16th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest championship last July. The ice cream-eating exhibition may be Chestnut’s way of mentally preparing to defend his title next month.
