John Gibbons would like to manage again
Plenty of manager jobs are opening up around the league, and John Gibbons wants one of them.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported on Saturday that the former Toronto Blue Jays skipper is eager to return to managing at the MLB level and would like to interview for openings this offseason.
The 57-year-old Gibbons managed the Jays from 2004 to 2008 and again from 2013 to 2018. He holds a career record of 793-789 (.501) with one division title and two ALCS berths in 2015 and 2016.
Gibbons has since remained with Toronto as an advisor, but his contract in that capacity expires at the end of the year, Morosi adds. With that in mind, one particular opening with a team that Gibbons used to play for may be especially appealing.
