Funny tweets from Josh Reddick, Dexter Fowler pay off
The power of positive thinking paid off for two baseball players on Monday.
Both Dexter Fowler and Josh Reddick on Monday recorded their first hits of the season after sending funny tweets.
Fowler, an outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, blooped a single into shallow center and went 1-for-5 in a win over the Brewers. He’s now 1-for-18 on the season, good for a whopping .056 batting average.
Reddick singled in the seventh inning of the Astros’ win over the Orioles as part of a 1-for-2 night with two walks. He is now 1-for-9 on the season — a .111 batting average.
Here were the tweets they sent, which started with Fowler and was copied by Reddick:
I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit. I will get a hit.
