Juan Soto was out there looking like a fool during Game 3 of the season.
The New York Mets star Soto had a real lowlight during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In the bottom of the seventh inning at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y., Soto was up to bat against Pirates reliever Mason Montgomery … and lost the battle in humiliating fashion.
On a 3-2 count to Soto with one out and two runners in scoring position, Montgomery went upstairs with a fastball. Soto was clearly caught off-guard by the high heat and attempted to check his swing.
But it was too late for Soto, and he ended up losing his balance and falling onto his wallet on the dirt. Here is the video of the embarrassing strikeout.

That was some pretty nasty stuff from the 25-year-old Montgomery, who is in his first season with the Pirates. Meanwhile, Soto, 27, does not strike out much for a power hitter of his caliber. But when he does, it is certainly quite a spectacle.
The Mets would go on to lose to the Pirates by a 4-3 final in 10 innings but still sit at 2-1 after winning the first two games of the series. As for the $765 million man Soto, that had to be the most unflattering strikeout since the one that his Mets teammate once produced.
