While the NFL season kicked off with Thursday night’s game between the Steelers and Patriots, Sunday marked the full slate of games. For much of the country it was a day to rejoice. For Juan Uribe, however, it was not.
As Uribe entered the Mets clubhouse, he was welcomed by football on the televisions and his teammates taking in the action. The veteran infielder made it known he’d like to watch the sport they, you know, play instead.

I can picture a diehard baseball fan walking into their local sports bar on Sunday and saying something similar. I can also imagine it being met with quite a few death stares. The NFL is king in the U.S. and that includes the Mets clubhouse. Sorry Juan.
