Report: Kenley Jansen out a month after experiencing irregular heartbeat
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without closer Kenley Jansen for a while for a frightening reason.
Jansen was hospitalized before Thursday’s game with an irregular heartbeat, and ESPN’s Buster Olney reports he’ll be away from the team for about a month as he seeks treatment.
Sources: Kenley Jansen is expected to miss about a month as he goes through treatment for his irregular heartbeat.

The 30-year-old right-hander has been his usual steady self this season, posting a 2.15 ERA with a league-best 32 saves.
Jansen has dealt with similar issues in both 2011 and 2012, but he returned without issue each time. That’s encouraging, but it’s worrying that it keeps coming up.
Heart issues are nothing to mess with, as one of Jansen’s peers had to deal with last season. Hopefully he’s able to successfully treat it and return to action quickly.
