Kela, 26, has a 4.63 ERA in 14 appearances for Pittsburgh this season. He was just activated from the 60-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation.
During his time with the Texas Rangers, Kela was once demoted to Triple-A for disciplinary reasons as well. He was also ejected from a game in April because of his role in a benches-clearing brawl.
