The Los Angeles Dodgers have been very busy ahead of MLB spring training.
On Wednesday, the Dodgers re-signed pitcher Evan Phillips. Then, they gave Max Muncy a one-year extension on Thursday. Shortly after the Muncy news, utilityman Kiké Hernández broke the news himself that he is coming back to LA in an Instagram post.
“What else did you expect?!!! 3 in a row has a nice ring to it! #WeBack,” Hernandez wrote.

Hernandez was with the Dodgers from 2015 through 2020, then he joined the Boston Red Sox on a two-year deal worth $14 million.
Then, at the 2023 trade deadline, the Red Sox sent Hernandez to LA in exchange for Nick Robertson and Justin Hagenman.
Hernandez struggled at the plate during his time in Boston, and returning to LA was a big boost for the Dodgers. He played in 126 games in 2024, and he played in 92 regular-season games with the Dodgers in 2025, hitting just .203 with 10 home runs and 35 RBIs.
However, Hernandez is a valuable player due to his ability to play multiple positions across the diamond, which gives Dave Roberts more options off the bench.
The contract for Hernandez is for one year and woth $4.5 million, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
