San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado was filmed making an obscene gesture at a Los Angeles Dodgers fan during the recent series between the two teams.
A TikTok video that surfaced Saturday showed Machado acting like he was about to toss a baseball to a fan during a game last week at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Ca. Just as he was about to make the toss, however, Machado gave the fan the finger and kept the baseball.

Machado was probably just having some fun here, though it is certainly an illustration of how heated the Padres-Dodgers rivalry is right now. Machado left the Dodgers to sign with the Padres, and seemingly further escalated the rivalry last October with some of his actions.
Tensions were high between the two teams last week, which culminated in a rather heated standoff between the two managers. Against this backdrop, it is easy to see why Machado decided to have an attitude.
The Dodgers maintain a seven-game lead over the Padres in the NL West entering play Saturday. The two teams will play each other six more times in the regular season during the second half.
