Marcell Ozuna homered for the second consecutive game on Thursday. The one he hit on Wednesday, against the Brewers, was over the center field wall. Thursday’s blast had a decidedly different landing place.
In the bottom half of the second inning, Ozuna turned on the first pitch he saw from Jerome Williams and pulled it down the left field line. The ball was hit high enough that when it came down it did so on top of the foul pole.
A home run like that would have to instantly win you a home run derby, right?
Ozuna hit 23 home runs last season for the Marlins in 153 games. However, this season has been a bit of a struggle for the 24-year-old. He was sent down to Triple-A in early July and made his return to the majors last Saturday. Ozuna now has six home runs on the season, perhaps none more impressive than this one.
