Marlins will consider adding Alex Rodriguez
With Giancarlo Stanton out for the season, the Miami Marlins are looking for another bat, and Alex Rodriguez is under consideration.
Marlins president Michael Hill told reporters on Sunday that Rodriguez is an available player and would be considered as an addition.
Hill says #marlins will give A Rod consideration. "He's an available player. "

Manager Don Mattingly had floated the possibility of Rodriguez playing first on Saturday, another position where the Marlins are facing injury issues.
“There’s no reason he couldn’t play first. He has the ability to do a lot of things,” Mattingly said, via the Associated Press. “We miss Justin [Bour] a little bit over there at first. I don’t think we’ve been able to replace that. We’re always looking at ways of getting better in different areas.”
With Stanton sidelined for the rest of the season and the Marlins a legitimate playoff contender, they may need some help down the stretch. A deal was previously seen as a long shot, but perhaps Stanton’s injury will change that.
