Now that’s how you snag a foul ball. During the sixth inning of the Marlins game against the Pirates Tuesday night, the fan you see above made a terrific play on a foul ball. Anytime you snag a ball using your hat, it’s worthy of Sportscenter’s top plays. When you step in front of an infant and make a terrific play on the ball, it qualifies as a top play of the month.
We’ve seen people like this guy snag a ball while holding his baby, but this dude laid it on the line and boxed the baby out to make sure she was out of harm’s way. It’s a dangerous job, but somebody’s gotta do it.
