Report: Marlins may target Neftali Feliz
With the pool of available free agent relievers threatening to dry up quickly, the Miami Marlins may be forced to devise a creative backup plan.
According to a report by Joe Frisaro of MLB.com on Thursday, the Marlins may target former All-Star closer Neftali Feliz as they await a decision from Kenley Jansen.
As the #Marlins await decision from Jansen, Neftali Feliz is another free agent candidate.

Feliz, 28, is best remembered for his ninth-inning dominance with the Texas Rangers in the early part of the decade but never quite returned to form after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2012. He went 4-2 with a 3.52 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 62 appearances for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016 and received only four save opportunities all season (converting on two of them).
The Marlins are said to have made Jansen a “monster offer” (you can read the details here), but a Plan B can never hurt, especially considering the basket of forgettables currently operating out of the Miami bullpen.
