Masahiro Tanaka hoping to rejoin Yankees next week
New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is close to rejoining the team after a month out with injury.
Tanaka said Monday that he will make a rehab start on Wednesday, and if all goes well, he plans to rejoin the Major League rotation as early as next week.
Tanaka said he will make his rehab start in Scranton on Wednesday. He‘s expecting to throw around 70 pitches and is hoping to be back in the rotation against Baltimore next week.

Tanaka strained both of his hamstrings while running the bases, but it looks like he will make it back in time for the All-Star break as hoped. The Yankees could use the help — their rotation has really struggled outside of CC Sabathia and Luis Severino this season.
