Matt Harvey does not speak to media after tabloid headlines mock bladder infection
Matt Harvey returned to the mound on Wednesday, one day after disclosing to the media that his medical issue was due to a bladder infection that stemmed from holding it in for too long.
Naturally, Wednesday morning’s New York tabloids responded to the Harvey news. They simply couldn’t stop themselves from pun after pun at Harvey’s expense. The New York Post came up with so many that they printed all the rejected headlines as a sidebar to the actual story.

The @nypost had so many Matt Harvey bladder headline ideas that they mocked up front pages for all of them. pic.twitter.com/DZsmuC7vMX

It’s customary in spring training for pitchers to chat with the media after their outing. Harvey did not on Wednesday, and the Mets’ beat writers couldn’t help but speculate that those headlines were the reason why.
A day after both NY tabloid headlines screamed "Ya Gotta Relieve!," Matt Harvey declines to talk to the media after his start.

It doesn’t take a genius to deduce that Harvey wasn’t thrilled with the tabloid treatment and elected to forego his media session as a result. One Daily News writer even piled on in response.
Matt Harvey has declined to speak after his appearance today. Supposedly pissed about the headlines and back pages. #Mets

This whole ordeal started amidst a shroud of secrecy and ends with a bunch of horrible tabloid urine puns. If Harvey actually is upset over this, well, think about it. It may seem trivial, but if you had bladder issues, would you want them plastered all over the back pages of the New York tabloids?
