Matt Holliday reportedly returning to baseball with Rockies
Matt Holliday isn’t finished with his MLB career just yet.
The veteran outfielder has signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies, the team that originally drafted him.

Holliday last played for the New York Yankees in 2017, where he hit .231 with 19 home runs in an injury-plagued season. The Rockies are betting that the 38-year-old has a bit left in the tank to help them as they pursue a playoff appearance.
Holliday will likely get some time to tune up at the minor league level before Colorado decides whether they want to promote him. Signing him now gives them the chance to evaluate him before the stretch run gets underway.
