Mets talking Asdrubal Cabrera, Zack Wheeler trade with Brewers

The New York Mets are sellers at the trade deadline and looking to trade a few more pieces.
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Mets have talked with the Milwaukee Brewers about trading Asdrubal Cabrera and Zack Wheeler.
#Mets discussing both Wheeler and Cabrera with #Brewers, sources tell The Athletic. No indication a deal is close. NYM also talking about players separately with other teams. #DBacks one of several on Cabrera, as first noted by @Buster_ESPN.

Jon Morosi also reported on Thursday that the Mets and Brewers were talking about a deal for Wheeler, though both say a deal isn’t necessarily close. The Mets are also talking with other teams about different players.
New York has parted ways with Jeurys Familia. Devin Mesoraco and Jose Bautista are other players they could try to move too.
Wheeler is 4-6 with a 4.33 ERA this season. His low salary for the season and status as a team-controlled player through next year makes him appealing. Cabrera is batting .277 with an .817 OPS. He’s making a very reasonable amount at just over $8 million for the season and is attracting interest from teams in need of a quality infielder.
