Miguel Sano not on Twins’ playoff roster for wild-card game
Miguel Sano is not on the Minnesota Twins’ playoff roster for their wild-card game against the New York Yankees on Tuesday night.
Here’s a look at their roster, which shows Sano as part of the 40-man roster but not part of the 25 players the team can use in the wild-card game:

Sano was activated from the 10-day DL on Friday after missing over a month due to a stress reaction in his left shin. He went 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter on Friday; 1-for-4 with two strikeouts as a DH on Saturday; and 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Sunday as a DH.
There was some thought that Sano would be available as a pinch hitter for the wild-card game, so it seems to say a lot about his health that the team isn’t activating him.
The pitching matchup in the game will be Ervin Santana against Luis Severino.
