The Cleveland Indians got a bit of an injury scare on Sunday, but all seems to be well for pitcher Mike Clevinger.
Clevinger threw only 75 pitches before departing his start with what the Indians termed as “upper back tightness.” He said after the game, however, that he is fine and expects to make his next start, and manager Terry Francona agreed.
Mike Clevinger was removed from the game with upper back tightness.

Clevinger said he’ll make his next start and that pulling him out today was just precautionary. Francona said the tightness first started in the second inning but didn’t pop up again until the fifth. Tito said they hope it’s just an overreaction on their part.

Clevinger had been totally dominant before departing, striking out ten and allowing just one hit in five innings. The news is a relief to a Cleveland team that is already without some key players and can’t really afford to lose much more.
