Mike Francesa responds to Trevor Bauer on Twitter
Mike Francesa and Trevor Bauer had a back-and-forth exchange that began with talk over the pitcher’s potential fit in New York.
Francesa, a legendary radio host on WFAN in New York, said on his program during the week that he didn’t endorse the Yankees trading for Bauer. Francesa views Bauer as a “nutcase and a fool” who wouldn’t fit in well in the major media market.

A Twitter account unaffiliated with Francesa that tweets funny clips from the radio host tweeted the clip to Bauer. The Cleveland Indians pitcher didn’t seem to realize it was an unaffiliated account that tagged him on Twitter and responded.
Lol nice…tag me in this looking to start drama and I’m the headcase and nutjob and whatever else is said in this video? That’s hilarious! Traditional media for you…this is why it’s dying. I do love the logo in the background tho! If only he looked like that in real life! https://t.co/ZIBUgqI1pN

Francesa apparently saw Bauer’s response. So when the Indians pitcher melted down and launched a ball to center field in response to his bad outing against the Royals, Francesa tweeted a “told you so” regarding Bauer.
We already have enough fools in New York. We don’t need Bauer.
By the way, when his baseball accomplishments approach mine in broadcasting he will have arrived.— Mike Francesa (@MikeFrancesa) July 26, 2019
Bauer is a very good pitcher who can help a lot of teams, but it’s hard not to argue that he would clash with the media in New York.
