Mike Redmond reportedly already on the hot seat with Marlins
The Miami Marlins have been a huge disappointment this season, and manager Mike Redmond is on the hot seat as a result.
The Miami Herald’s Clark Spencer reports that Redmond’s job is already in jeopardy following the team’s 3-10 start. Spencer points out that team owner Jeffrey Loria has had an itchy trigger finger with managers in the past, such as when he fired Jeff Torborg in May 2003 and Fredi Gonzalez in June 2010. Redmond is in his third season as Marlins manager and has gone 139-185 over the past two seasons.
Spencer also reports that Loria took note of what Giancarlo Stanton said Friday about the team lacking “fire” and interpreted that to mean that the team might need a kick in the rear, which could be provided by a new manager.
In response to Spencer’s report, the Pioneer Press’ Mike Berardino (who used to cover the Marlins in South Florida) said the team was “not sure” where the report was coming from.
My friend Clark Spencer does fine work, but #Marlins official says team is "not sure where this is coming from." We're 2 weeks in, people.

Come on, like we would really expect the Marlins to admit they’re thinking about firing their manager? Please.
All I know is that Loria is a nut job and history has shown he has a tendency to blow things up when his plan doesn’t unfold the way he envisions. With the team expected to compete this year but struggling out of the gates, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make big changes before too long.
