MSG crowd erupts into 3-word chant after Giancarlo Stanton’s home run
Fans attending the New York Knicks’ home debut Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y. got a double dose of sports euphoria.
The Knicks held a commanding 105-77 lead over the visiting Pacers with just over seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. While that was happening, New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit a mammoth home run to give his team a 2-1 lead in Game 1 of the World Series (video here).
The fans at MSG were thousands of miles away from the Fall Classic at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. But that didn’t stop them from celebrating while simultaneously watching the Knicks dominate an East rival. “Let’s go Yankees!” chants echoed across the “World’s Most Famous Arena.”

Stanton had a monstrous ALCS to help the Yankees get to its first World Series since 2009. In five games against the Cleveland Guardians, Stanton had a modest .222 batting average. But the five-time All-Star made those hits count by tallying 4 home runs, 7 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .889.
The man Yankees fans endearingly call “Big G” clearly hasn’t cooled off just yet.
