Seth Romero’s 2018 season apparently is not off to a good start.
The Washington Nationals sent Romero home from spring training on Monday, according to a report from Yahoo’s Jeff Passan. Passan reports a team spokesman said Romero violated team policy.

Romero, 21, was the Nationals’ first-round pick last year, taken No. 25 in the draft. The southpaw put together an excellent career in college at Houston, but he had extensive off-field issues and was kicked off his college team last season.
Romero had been suspended by the team for failing a drug test, missing curfew, and being photographed holding a bong. Then when he got reinstated, he got into a fight during batting practice, leading to his ultimate dismissal from the team.
Romero went 17-13 with a 2.43 ERA and 290 strikeouts in 225 innings during his college career. He struck out 32 batters in 20 innings in six starts in low-A ball last year.
