Noah Syndergaard pokes fun at All-Star display misspelling his name
Mets flamethrower Noah Syndergaard won’t be able to suit up for the NL All-Stars on Tuesday due to arm fatigue. But that certainly doesn’t mean that he deserves to have his name flubbed.
Syndergaard noticed a display at the MLB All-Star Fan Fest on Tuesday that erroneously spelled his surname as “Snydergaard.” The 23-year-old right-hander then proceeded to share the typo-laced display on Twitter.

That’s Syndergaard’s mom, Heidi, posing in front of the inaccurate display. The Jord line is in clever reference to Syndergaard’s nickname “Thor,” as Jord was the mother of Thor in Norse mythology.
For Syndergaard, who was elected to the All-Star Team outright this year, it’s an egregious offense. Apparently, triple-digit heaters and a Mets team-leading 2.56 ERA to go along with 128 strikeouts aren’t enough to command some reverence around these parts. Put some respeck on that name!
