Noah Syndergaard sends great tweet after not being Cy Young finalist
After not being selected as a finalist for the National League Cy Young Award, Noah Syndergaard took to social media, which is generally entertaining.
Kyle Hendricks, Jon Lester, and Max Scherzer are the final three on the NL ballot. They each had outstanding seasons and are certainly worthy of consideration. However, Noah Syndergaard was pretty good in his own right, although he did not make the final cut. Upon finding out, the 24-year-old posted this gem to his Twitter account.
Not a Cy Young finalist…not a big deal…right Dwight? pic.twitter.com/5sdtA8TrzW

For the season, Syndergaard finished third in the NL in ERA (2.60), tied for fourth in strikeouts (218), and surrendered the fewest home runs per nine innings (0.539). He also led the league in FIP (2.29). Those are strong numbers for sure and improvements over his rookie season. Continuing on the same track should see Syndergaard a finalist in the not-so-distant future.
Syndergaard has posted a few dandies to Twitter this year, including one mocking the Marlins’ home run structure. He also poked fun at his name being misspelled on an all-star display and inquired about who started the wave during a game at Citi Field.
