Pete Crow-Armstrong has truly come into his own in the big leagues, but on Saturday, he channeled his inner Sammy Sosa.
The Cubs star outfielder hit not just one, but three home runs against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Ill., to help power Chicago to a 17-5 victory. Crow-Armstrong’s performance also happened on the same day Sosa and other former Cubs stars were at the park to celebrate the team’s 150th anniversary.
Following the game, Crow-Armstrong revealed what Sosa told him before his historic feat.
“Sammy did say I was gonna hit 3 today,” Crow-Armstrong said in a postgame interview, via Marquee Sports Network.
“Sammy Sosa told me I was gonna hit 3 and I hit 3. Put that on the record.”

The 24-year-old is already a strong contender to win the 2026 National League Most Valuable Player before the Cubs game, and he made his case for the award even stronger with those three balls he sent out of the park.
In addition, Crow-Armstrong just became the youngest player ever ( 24 years and 157 days) in Cubs history to hit three home runs in the same game, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
On the season, Crow-Armstrong is batting .282/.377/.567 with 36 home runs and 89 RBIs through 136 games for the Cubs, who snapped a three-game losing skid and improved to 77-59.
