The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly the current leader for one of the top free agents left on the market.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Phillies are currently leading the field for pitcher Jake Arrieta, who is expected to sign within the next few days.

The Phillies had been looking at other pitchers, but with Arrieta available this late, it’s understandable if they can’t help but push for a deal. He could be a big anchor in the rotation for a young team that sees itself contending within a few years.
