Phillies reportedly have been in contact with Lance Lynn

Lance Lynn

The Philadelphia Phillies have been in contact with pitcher Lance Lynn, according to a report.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reports that the Phillies have been in touch with Lynn as well as top free agent pitcher Jake Arrieta.

Both players remain unsigned even as spring training begins for MLB teams.

Lynn, who turns 31 in May, went 11-8 with a 3.43 ERA last season for the Cardinals. He also reportedly has received interest from the Twins, Yankees, Brewers, Mets and Orioles.

Arrieta, who turns 32 next week, went 14-10 with a 3.53 ERA last season for the Cubs. He was linked to the Nationals in a report on Wednesday.

Yu Darvish is the big free agent pitcher to sign over the offseason. He inked a six-year, $126 million deal with the Cubs.
