RA Dickey adopting ‘Little Ugly’ nickname to go with Bartolo Colon’s ‘Big Sexy’
Like Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey is a veteran quadragenarian right-hander who signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Braves this offseason. And now he has the nickname to rival Colon’s as well.
Dickey announced on Friday that he’s adopting a new moniker to go with Colon’s renowned “Big Sexy” title.
“I gave myself the nickname Little Ugly,” said the knuckleballer, per Paul Newberry of the Associated Press. “Big Sexy and Little Ugly are going to be leading it on.”
The 43-year-old “Big Sexy” and the 42-year-old “Little Ugly” should make for quite the interesting pairing in the Braves rotation next season. No word though if Dickey will also try to follow in Colon’s footsteps with regard to his legendary exploits at the plate and his iconic dugout dance moves.
