The Boston Red Sox are adjusting on the fly during their ALDS series against the New York Yankees.
The Red Sox announced Sunday that Nathan Eovaldi, a former Yankee, would be their starter for Game 3 at Yankee Stadium on Monday night.

Game 3 had originally been meant for Rick Porcello, with Eovaldi slated to go in Game 4. The desperate Red Sox had to use Porcello out of the bullpen in Game 1, necessitating a shift in strategy.
Eovaldi was quite good for Boston after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays at the trade deadline. In 12 appearances, he posted a 3.33 ERA. Encouragingly, he threw six shutout innings at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 18.
It looked like it would be the Yankees who would have serious issues with their pitching staff after Game 1 did not go according to plan. As it stands, though, it’s the Red Sox who are having to do more scrambling.
