Robinson Cano says he will play wherever he is needed after suspension
Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano spoke to the media for the first time since he was suspended for PED use in May, and he was apologetic.
Cano apologized to everyone who had been let down by his suspension, calling it one of the most difficult things he had ever dealt with in his life.

Cano apologized to fans, teammates, the city of Seattle. Noted he's never had an issue before with MLB drug test policy in 14 years, but acknowledged he's responsible for what he takes and said "we all make mistakes."

Cano will be eligible to return on Aug. 14. With the Mariners performing very well without him, he said he would happily slot in wherever needed upon returning.
Cano said he’s willing to do whatever and play wherever when he’s eligible to return.

It seems like Cano has backed away from his initial explanation for his suspension and admitted that he is at least responsible for whatever happened. He won’t be eligible for the playoffs if the Mariners make it, so they probably won’t want to rock the boat too much if they’re still performing well once he’s served his suspension.
