Colorado Rockies sent perfect post to celebrate their sweep

The Colorado Rockies’ social media team finally had the opportunity on Wednesday to fire back at all the jokes about the team’s performance.

The Rockies went just 4-24 in the month of May and were 9-50 on the season through play on June 1. That prompted one stat to go viral, as it was pointed out that as of the start of June, golfer Scottie Scheffler had won as many events since May 4 as the Rockies had won games.

Needless to say, Scheffler had nowhere near as many chances to win golf events as the Rockies had to win games, and it seemed to sum up Colorado’s futility perfectly.

Things have changed since the calendar turned to June, however. On Wednesday, the Rockies defeated the Miami Marlins 3-2 at loanDepot Park in Miami, Fla. to complete a three-game sweep. The Rockies’ official X account was quick to note that, since June 2, the team has three wins to Scheffler’s zero.

Obviously, this is not too reassuring for the Rockies, who remain on a historically bad pace even at 12-50. That said, there is no guarantee they will sweep another series all season. They might as well celebrate one when they have the chance.

The real embarrassment here might be for the Marlins for falling victim to a Colorado sweep. They might be able to take some solace in the fact that very few people were present to see it happen.
