New York Mets broadcaster Ron Darling will be getting back to work this week after receiving good news on his cancer.
Darling, who has been absent from the Mets’ booth since April while undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer, said in a statement Monday that he has been given the green light to return to work after his cancer “stabilized.”

The news comes just shy of a month since his diagnosis was made public.
While it doesn’t sound like Darling is completely out of the woods yet, getting back to work is a great sign. His prognosis appears positive, and hopefully everything remains on the right track and the former pitcher will be able to make a full recovery.
