Ronald Acuña’s home run streaks still alive despite leaving game early
Ronald Acuña will have the opportunity to continue his home run streaks when he returns to action.
Acuña was hit with the first pitch of Wednesday’s game between the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins. Marlins pitcher José Ureña was ejected, and Acuña later left the game with an apparent injury.
Acuña came into the game with home runs in five consecutive games. In three of those games, Acuña led off the game with a home run. Because of those streaks, it was fairly obvious Acuña was hit on purpose.
Due to the circumstance under which Acuña was forced to exit the game, his home run streaks will still be active when he is able to return to action.
Per MLB rules, because Acuna's only plate appearance resulted in him being hit by a pitch, his home run streaks will be intact when he returns to action.

The rule comes as a minor consolation as the bigger concern is the health of the talented Braves rookie, who has impressed in his short stint as a major leaguer. In 67 games this season, Acuña is hitting .288/.346/.576 with 19 home runs, 43 RBI, and 8 stolen bases.
