Bryce Harper could be in line for a position change depending on which team he signs with as a free agent this offseason.
Herper, along with Manny Machado, will be one of the most sought-after free agents in recent memory this winter. Until this point, Harper has primarily played in the outfield defensively. On Tuesday, agent Scott Boras touted Harper’s ability to play first base.

Earlier this year, Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez mentioned he would consider using Harper at first base in a pinch, so this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the possibility of Harper playing the infield.
The popular theory for years had been that Harper would end up with the New York Yankees. However, the Yankees are set at their corner outfield spots with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton already on the roster. The short right field porch at Yankee Stadium would be perfect for Harper. For him to have the chance to take advantage of that 81 games a season, a position change may be in order. The Yankees would also have to move around some other pieces to make it work as well.
