The Philadelphia Phillies are facing a relief crisis with a long way to go in the regular season.
The Phillies are placing reliever Seranthony Dominguez on the IL with a UCL injury. This can mean Tommy John surgery is required, though that determination does not appear to have been made in Dominguez’s case just yet.

Injury to UCL. Could be more significant. Bad news. Going to get second opinion. Tommy John possibility.

As John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia notes, that’s seven sidelined relievers for the Phillies at the moment. Dominguez is a pretty big one. Though he wasn’t as good this season, he posted a 2.95 ERA last season.
The Phillies still lead the NL East, but between the relief crisis and what happened to Andrew McCutchen, they’re in the middle of a brutal run of serious injuries to significant players.
