Andrew McCutchen out for season with torn ACL
Andrew McCutchen is out for the season with a torn ACL.
The Philadelphia Phillies outfielder injured his knee in a rundown in the top of the first inning of his team’s 8-2 loss to the San Diego Padres on Monday night. McCutchen tweeted after the game asking for fans to pray for him. He knew something was serious.
Pray for me. Please

His worst fears came to be as an MRI showed a torn ACL.
A former NL MVP, McCutchen signed a 3-year, $50 million contract with the Phillies over the offseason. He was batting .256/.378/.457 this season playing mostly left field and some in center. His 43 walks this season led the league.

The Phillies are calling up Adam Haseley to take his place on the roster.
Even though he’s 32, McCutchen is confident he will be able to return to form.
Andrew McCutchen said he hopes to be ready by Opening Day 2020. “It’s a sucky dynamic,” he said. “It’s not the news I wanted to hear.” He said he is confident he can be the same player next season because of advancements in medicine since he tore his other ACL in high school.
