Shin-Soo Choo agrees to sign with Texas Rangers
One of the biggest offensive free agents left on the market has found a home.
Shin-Soo Choo and the Texas Rangers have agreed on a 7-year deal, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The deal is said to be worth $130 million.
The Rangers have been said to be one of the biggest suitors for Choo, who reportedly turned down a seven-year, $140 million offer from the New York Yankees because he was supposedly seeking Jacoby Ellsbury money. Even though the dollar amount from the Rangers is $10 million less than the offer from the Yankees, Choo will take home more of the money because there is no state income tax in Texas.
The Rangers have now added Choo and Prince Fielder this offseason, making it a pretty successful winter.
